Get Back Up on That Horse!

A lot of us get down on ourselves...the way we feel, the way we look - and it creates this cycle of negative thoughts. How many times have you gone through this: "OK, I've had some chips, I might as well go for the rest of the bag." And, then a few minutes later, you feel uncomfortable with your bodies and guilty about having eaten. And, it doesn't stop there. So, for dinner, instead of making a healthy choice, we rationalize that we didn't eat healthy at lunch, so since the day is already a bust, we might as well have something that we're really craving for dinner....and then start back up on our plan tomorrow.

And, then how often does our tomorrow carry over to "I'll start again Monday"? And, this pattern continues for several days until we've lost sight of our goals and give up. We start to view things negatively, or think to ourselves that we haven't achieved what we want to acheive.

BUT,

We hold a tremendous amount of power in our thoughts and choices. And, if we look at the positive, then it's likely that you'll see that you ARE accomplishing something and that you DO have things to be proud of. For today, I want to challenge you to list 5 things that a) you are proud of accomplishing this week, or b) things that you like about your body. You can make a combo list if you'd like - with some of the list items being decisions/accomplishments that you're proud of; and some of your attributes that you are happy with.

Get back up on that horse, feeling more positive and confident and know that you make the decisions in your life and even if you slip up a little bit, there's no need to hesitate to get right back on track and continue full throttle toward achieving your ultimate goals. One step or one minute at a time.
