What do I need?

You know how we just go, go, go….often on autopilot? Not realizing we’re snacking b/c we’re bored/tired/sad; staying up late and watching a show and then dragging the next day; making time for everybody but ourselves in our calendars?

It’s a new month, and I have a new challenge for you this month…listening to your body and doing things for it that are positive and healthy.

For 3 days each week (working up to every day) this month, I want you to give yourself 1minute at the beginning, middle and end of each day to just check in with yourself.

Sit quietly. It can be in your bed, in your car, at your desk…anywhere. But sit quietly, breathe deeply. Don’t look at your email, don’t drive. Just sit and ask yourself “How am I doing?” It’s that simple. We ask others all the time how they’re doing, but we don’t ask ourselves. So, ask yourself and give yourself an honest answer. How ARE you doing? What do you need? How have you planned to take care of yourself today? How have you done that? How will you make sure that your needs/health/well-being are being taken care of?

Move yourself up a notch or three or four on your ladder of priorities. Take the time out to check in, listen, and then give yourself what you need so you can be your best.
