It's that time of year, when the motivation for looking good in our swimsuits has waned, and summer's end means the beginning of an entirely new schedule. This may seem like the perfect time to become a little more lax in your training/eating routine. On the contrary, it's a perfect time to inject something new into your regimen. Stumped for ideas? How about starting off in your own back yard? How many times a day do you drive through some scenic area, or even a downtown shopping area that you haven't explored on foot in awhile? Take some time this week to park your car and get out and explore! Don't forget your pedometer, and surprise yourself at how many steps you get just by window shopping, or exploring a surrounding neighborhood!
Your adventure doesn't have to be extreme. Just give yourself a change of pace and scenery. Just don't be too tempted to make pit stops at the yummy restaurants lining the streets. If you're interested in making your outing somewhat different, you might want to check with your local chamber of commerce/visitor's center to see if there is a guided walking tour, or a brochure on scenic routes through your town. Get out and enjoy the remaining summer evenings!!!
