Hi everyone and happy holidays!
I received an email message that struck a chord about making the most of what's left of this year. During the holiday madness, we tend to say, "I'll add that to my New Year's Resolution list." Or, "after the holiday's I'll start working out and eating better." But you know what, you have 9 days left of 2007 to be your best!
Because of the extra stress and social events surrounding the holidays, we may tend to let our exercise and healthy eating habits slide....and, it is a special time....a time of year where we don't always have access to peppermint bark, or egg nog lattes. And, you should feel OK allowing yourself to partake in some holiday cheer! After all, who wants to be the Grinch and ignore all of the bliss?
However, it's also a time when you don't have to totally abandon your resolve and let the holidays be an excuse to go overboard. Each day we make hundreds of choices. And, it's the small things that add up. So, go ahead and have some wine at the holiday party; just try and plan in some extra time for getting in a walk or taking your favorite aerobics class. Or, enjoy a special night out with friends; but make a conscious decision to not order appetizers, or, perhaps share desert.
That way, when 2008 rolls in, you'll be ahead of the game and well on your way in continuing to achieve your health goals!!!! Make 2007 a year that ends with a bang!!!
Wishing you the best this holiday season!!
