Friday is National Wear Red Day in support of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Campaign. Heart disease is the #1 killer of American women. Go Red for Women is a great campaign and has many resources for helping you become heart healthy by sharing information, stories, and support from women all across the US!
Register online to access tools and resources related to nutrition and physical activity for you and your family.
Then, do a quick Heart Check Up to determine your cardiovascular risk and devise an action plan for everyday strategies to reduce your chance of developing heart disease. To take the check up, you'll need to know your current waist circumference, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol info (HDL's, LDL's, and total cholesterol). If you don't know your numbers, check with your health care provider. A simple blood test will provivde you with all of the info.
Know your numbers, know your risk, and support women's health by wearing red on Friday!
