It's starting to feel a little more like spring; the days are getting longer; it's warming up; and all of the stores are getting rid of their winter stock and show casing shorts, skirts, t-s, and bright, bold colors.
For those of us who are living in colder climates where it's still very much winter, we look longingly looking at the spring clothes racks, anxiously awaiting the moment when we get to shed our winter clothes.
Spring is traditionally the time we take to clean out our homes, closets, garages. I encourage you, while you're looking at your closet to throw out the clothes that are your "fat" clothes, that you keep on hand just because you think you're going to need them someday. Similarly, throw out those "skinny jeans" the ones that you've had in your closet for months, maybe years, thinking that you'll some day fit into.
It's about focusing on the present. That doesn't mean that if you're feeling less than stellar that you have to wear frumpy clothing. Replace the clothes that you've gotten rid of with clothes that flatter your current shape. If you've got a slender waist, choose tops with an empire waist. If you have a lovely decolletage, wear a shirt with a flattering collar. If you think your neck is your best feature, rock a scarf in your favorite color. The point is to not waste time on the "ideal" you and what you'll be wearing when you are at your ideal; but rather to flatter your current self. Bring out your best, let yourself sparkle and shine, and as you make progress toward your goal weight, find clothes and/or accessories that continue to look fabulous on you!
Don't view it as a waste of money. View it as an investment in yourself, in maximizing your current assets.
